Murat Erciyas
He graduated from the Department of Industrial Design at Middle East Technical University in 1993.
He worked as a designer in the United States between 1995 and 1999. He began his career in the United States as a designer and prototyper at the FireHouse Design Team in Cincinnati, alongside David Eyman. He later worked with the Principal Designers of the University of Cincinnati's Department of Theatre and Stage Design. In the late 1990s, he participated in the development and patent registration of numerous inventions at the patent law firm Wood, Herron & Evans.
After returning to Turkey, he served as the design and R&D Manager at Nurus, one of Turkey's leading office furniture companies.
In 2004, he founded his own design firm (farm-design) to meet the growing demand for innovative and patented products in Turkish industry. To date, he has provided design and design consulting services to over 50 renowned office, home, and educational furniture companies, as well as the healthcare sector. Nearly 50% of current products in the office furniture sector bear Murat Erciyas's signature.
At Farm-design, innovation and the blending of customer needs with design have propelled companies to new heights, boosting user satisfaction and increasing their profitability. Murat Erciyas strives to implement not only new products but also pioneering and successful projects, taking into account companies' production capacities and customer profiles. His success stems from his command of global standards and his ability to apply these standards from presentation to production in his designed products. During this period, over 30 products bearing Murat Erciyas's signature were exhibited at the Orgatec Furniture Fair.
Murat Erciyas also offers young designers the opportunity to gain experience in the world of design and production. Thus, his company connects young designers with current designs and potential companies. Murat Erciyas contributes to the design world simultaneously in design, application, production, and training. He contributed academically to the "Industrial Design 201-202" courses at Middle East Technical University for 22 years, from 2001 to 2023.
